At YR Architecture + Design, we’re bringing exceptional modern custom residential design to central Ohio and the Midwest. We’re a small residential architecture studio based in Columbus, OH that designs warm, inviting, and enduring spaces. We specialize in creating contemporary custom homes on one-of-a-kind sites that are design-forward, contextual, and highly detailed. Our projects range from small conceptual design packages to full-service custom residential homes located in Ohio and across the U.S.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced architectural designer/architect with 6 or more years of work experience to help elevate our firm as a leading custom home architecture firm in central Ohio. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the firm with your entrepreneurial spirit, pioneering mindset, and strong design talents, as a key member of our creative team.

You have strong Revit skills, experience in designing, documenting, 3D modeling, and presentations, and a background in residential design (new construction and/or remodeling). Experience in putting drawing sets together at all stages of design and documentation, coordinating consultants and project teams/deadlines is required.
Qualifications
- Accredited degree in architecture
- 7-10 years of related professional experience, preferably including design and detailing experience on high-end custom residential projects
- Licensure is a plus
- Exceptional design skills with a passion for modern contemporary design
- Detail and task-oriented with excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit and Photoshop (Enscape experience is a plus)
- Technical knowledge of Type V construction, residential building codes, construction documentation methods, and putting CD sets together
- Authorization to work in the US
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the projects from concept design through construction administration, working in collaboration with the clients, consultants, contractors, and other project team members
- Collaborate and communicate design concepts in an iterative design process with project team members and consultants verbally, graphically, and in written form, remotely and/or in-person
- Lead the team in detailing, developing, and documenting projects from concept design through construction administration, including producing high-quality visualization graphics
- Produce, organize and maintain a coordinated BIM model and drawing set as required for presentations, agency approvals and construction
- Produce materials and participate in client presentations and internal design reviews
- Anticipate and develop solutions to technical and design problems
- Research and specify materials, products and systems
- Develop systems, processes, and frameworks to streamline production, maintain quality, and ensure graphical consistency across projects.
