OPEN House

Unbuilt Work

The OPEN house is a concept for a 2000sf net-zero house that emulates the surrounding ecosystem through the use of innovative materials and sustainable strategies. As a nod to Eleanor Raymond, the architect of the demolished house that previously occupied the site, the OPEN house embodies her appreciation for nature and landscape integration. The house is recessed into the earth to minimize its exposure to extreme temperatures and allow for an accessible green roof and rooftop garden, which provides biodiversity and habitat for the local ecology.
